A week ago, a group of Microsoft researchers discovered a serious security flaw in TikTok's Android app. By exploiting this flaw, hackers could easily take over users' accounts. After reporting the issue to TikTok authorities, they quickly fixed the security flaw. As a result, millions of TikTok users are protected from cyber attacks. This time, a group of hackers named 'AgainsttheWest' claimed that they hacked TikTok and collected user information and the app's source code. But TikTok authorities denied this claim of hackers.
According to information from technology website Bleeping Computer, a group of hackers recently carried out a cyber attack to collect the information contained in the TikTok database and displayed their images on the hacker forum. Hackers claim that they have stolen 790 GB of TikTok data, including users and codes.
Denying the hack, a TikTok spokesperson said there was no evidence of security flaws in TikTok. The information that is posted is general user information that can be viewed by anyone. We have confirmed that the information was not collected through a cyber attack on TikTok's system, network or database. And so users don't have to take any initiative to increase security.
TikTok is currently very popular among young people due to the easy creation and sharing of short videos. Many have become stars by making funny videos for this app. In the meantime, the TikTok app has been downloaded more than 100 million times from the Google Play Store.
